Udaipur, Rajasthan.
College campus
"The winner of DANCE competition is----- Any guesses??"
The entire campus echoed with loud cheering. Each one of them had only one name at their tongues. Their brain instincts screaming the name, their body swaying as her name erupted in loud applauses.
"Adhira!!! Adhira!!!"
Adhira, not only a normal name. A name that stays in every heart of udaipur. A name that scream elegance. A name that carry the expectations of campus, the whole udaipur.
" Yesss!!! That's absolutely right!.... Presenting you all our star of the dayâ MS. ADHIRA RAJVANSHI."
There come sheâ wearing a light blue formal shirt with cream pants. Her heels clicking against the ground. Her hairs swaying along with her each step towards the stage. She had worn a small smile on her face. Her eyes calm. Her each step graceful. Soft. Confident.
She brushed her fingers against the marble stage, showing her respect and then crossed the steps, moving forward.
The guest, judges and students cheered loudly. Not even a single one of them stayed quiet when The Adhira Rajvanshi capture the stabe with her grace and elegance.
She took the award from the hands of the announcer with a slight nod as a form of respect And then stood in front of the podium.
She smiled," First of all, I would like to give my gratitude to our principal, Proffesorsâwho saw the potential in me, supported me through every step of my journey and think of me being worthy of lifting off this award."
She higher the award slightly, showing it to the world standing in front of her with the kind of softness and elegance that never fades.
" Secondly, my parents, who walked beside me, supported my passion and never tried to supress it."
" Thank you so much for this award." She finished, smiling eyes.
Once again, loud applause were heard by the walls of campus.
Adhira stepped down stairs, carrying herself and the award with elegance, royalty And confidence. She looked in front and her eyes shine with excitement .
"Mihir?"
Mihir, her only male bestfriend.
A chef by Profession and a gentleman by nature.Â
He smiled warmly, moving towards her. He side hugged her, patting her head affectionately, " You got this, Jerry. Didn't I said you'll Rock the stage." He spoke, softness dripping from his words and proud glimpsing in his eyes.
She giggled, replying," Thank you Mr tom!" He chuckled. She continued, eyebrows raised," Weren't you 'very' busy today because some big foreign clients wanted to collab with you?"
Her tone came sarcastic as she rolled her eyes, Emphasizing more on the wordâ very.
Mihir chuckled, eyes fixed on her," Busy word doesn't come between us, Jerry." Adhira's heart flipped as she slowly gazed mahir only to see his eyes speaking thousands of words.
It was soft, gentle and affectionate.
She looked away, clearing her throat,"I should go." She paused," Maa wait kar rahi hai."
(Mom must be waiting)
Mihir offered," Ok. sit in the car. I'll drop you." As he turn towards the Parking direction.
Butâ
" No no....I'll go by myself."
Mihir blinked, " Mere hote huye akele kyu jaogi? Chalo ghadi mein baitho." She parted Her lips to protest but," Mai kuch nai sunne vala."
(Why would you be going alone when I am here? Go and sit in the car)
(I'll not listen anything)
Adhira Sigh and nodded.
Mihir moved to the passenger seat, opened the door gently, gesturing for adhira to sit inside.
Adhira laughed at his actions," You should be treating your wife this way, not your best friend Mr." She teased him.
Mihir didn't utter Anything instead he just smiled and closed the door as she sat comfortably and stride towards driver's seat and breathed out.
" Vaise tum bhot.... ----
(Btw you are....----
He paused, staring her. He saw how her eyes cascade over him, patiently waiting for the compliment so he thought to tease her.
" Badi vaali bandariya lag rahi ho." Adhira's patience went in vain. She glare him before hitting his bicep," Aur tum bandar!" Her nose scrunch up cutely making mahir breathe difficulty. Then he said lowly yet softly," Tumhara bandar."
( you are looking like the biggest female monkey)
(And you, a male monkey)
(Your monkey.)
It was a soft whisper, not meant for her to listen at any cost but she heard it.
Her heart skip, breathe caught in her throat. She slowly looked away,"l... Let's go." She stuttered, slapped herself mentally for being nervous.
He hummed, cheeks soft red as he drive from there.
The ride to next destination was heavy, calm and soft.

" There come my princess!" Meera exclaimed as he eyed adhira stepping inside the palace, holding her winning trophy in one hand and her bag in another.
Meera came forward and caressed adhira's hairs," How was your day, gudiya?"
" Quite good, maa." Adhira said, placing down the trophy on table and her bag on the couch.
Meera smiled," I knew it. Meri beti competition jarur jeetegi." She prep a soft kiss to her head, Following his palm brushing against her right cheek.
(My daughter will win this competition)
Then echoed a voice," Nachaniya ka award bhi koi award hota hai?"
( Calling a dancerâs award an award is a joke)
Meera's face fell, eyes turned cold. She clench her hands in a tight fist.
She parted her lips to speak in defence butâ
"You are right."
Adhira step forward and stopped in front of Shivani, her lips curving into a sweet yet sharp smile.
âBilkul sahi kaha aapne, Bua.â
(You are so right, paternal aunt)
Shivaniâs smirk widened, clearly enjoying her moment.
Adhira tilted her head slightly, her voice dripping with sarcasm, âWaise bhi⌠nachne gaane ka hunar toh sabko milta thodi hai. Iske liye thodi mehnat chahiye, thoda talent chahiye⌠aur thoda hosla bhi. Sabke bas ki baat nahi hai.â
(Anyway⌠not everyone is gifted with the art of dancing and singing. It takes some hard work, some talent⌠and a bit of courage too. Itâs not something just anyone can do.)
She gave a light laugh, almost as if she was complimenting Shivani, but her words had already hit their mark.
Stepping closer, Adhira added sweetly,âAur Bua, aap toh jaanti hi hain⌠jo cheez samajh na aaye, usse hum kabhi âchhotaâ keh dete hain. Bas wahi hua yahan bhi.â
(And Bua, you know very well⌠whatever we donât understand, we tend to call âsmallâ or âlesser.â Thatâs exactly what happened here too)
Her tone was respectful, her smile unbothered, but her eyes sparkled with sarcasm.
Shivaniâs smirk froze.
Adhira then touched Shivaniâs feet gracefully, âAashirwad dijiye Bua⌠taki agli baar bhi main ânachaniyaâ ka award hi sahi, le kar aaoon. Kam se kam meri maa ki aankhon mein khushi toh laata hai.â
(Give me your blessings, Bua⌠so that next time too, even if itâs just a âdancerâsâ award, I can bring it home. At least it brings happiness to my motherâs eyes)
Meeraâs chest swelled with pride, while Shivani stood speechless, her face stiff with suppressed anger.
Adhiraâs words fell like silk woven with hidden steel. The sarcasm in her tone had been delicate, but it struck Shivani with precision. Meeraâs lips curved with pride, while Shivaniâs face stiffened, her smirk dissolving into silence.
The silence that followed was deafening.
From the marble staircase above, two pairs of eyes gleamed with pride. Ishika and AvyaanâShivaniâs own childrenâstood side by side, watching their elder sister. They exchanged a small smile; in their hearts, Adhira had done what they never couldâanswer their mother with elegance, without ever crossing the line of respect.
Angad Pratap Singh Rajvanshi stood tall at the end of hall. His ivory kurta blended with the glow of the chandeliers, his expression regal and unreadable. But when his gaze fell on his daughter, the faintest smile curved his lipsârestrained pride, the kind only a father could hide behind silence.
Not everyone shared that pride.
From the other end of the grand dining hall, RajmataâAdhiraâs grandmotherârested her cane against the floor, eyes narrowing disapprovingly.
âTeekhi zubaan⌠ek Rajvanshi beti ko shobha nahi deti,â she muttered, her voice low but cutting.
(Sharp tongue.... Doesn't look good on Rajvanshi daughter.)
" Lekin apki beti ko deti hai?" Adhira mumbled, sarcasm dripping.
(But does it give your daughter?)
Meera heard her, standing close and bite back the smile.
" Tum fresh ho jao. Khaane lgne vala hai." Meera said, sending adhira to her room.
(You get fresh. Food is about to be served)
Adhira nodded, glancing between shivani and Lajwanti before moving Upstairs to her room.

Time skips
At the dinning table
" Aaj toh Adhira ne aag lagadi university mein. Kya performance thi!" Ishika said, gaining everyone's Attention, especially Armaan.
(Today, Didi set the university on fire. What a performance it was!)
Adhira paused inbetween bites, glancing ishita casually," How you know? Tu toh yaha thi bhi nahi?" She questioned, raising her brows.
Ishika sip on the water," Pura social media charcha par hai. Afterall, The princess Adhira has won the award for semi-classical performance." Adhira grinned softly.
(The whole social media is buzzing about it)
Meera showed her proud smile. Angad too secretly smiled before continue eating the food.
Ashna didn't pay attention and focused on her meal. Shivani scoffed to herself, jealously clearly visible on her face.
The cousinsâ Avyaan and ishita proudly banter about adhira with Armaan silently feeling delighted. His sparkling eyes showed the satisfaction. The honour he felt when the world clap for his little sister.
He brought his hand closer, rest the palm gently on Adhira's head.
Adhira averted her eyes to Armaan, stunned.
Armaan gave a gentle pat and murmured," You have worked so hard and it shows." Adhira said nothing, just savored the feeling of being called out by her brother.
Angad smiled faintly, though eyes looked cold at adhira yet a shiny spark enlighten his eyes as he watch his daughter grow up and make the rajvanshi clan proud with her talents.
Suddenly Armaan's phone rang, indicating an incoming call. His lips slightly curved up from the corner as he glance at the caller I'd. He immediately picked up the call.
" Hello---
Armaan's eyes smiled as he heard the words of the next person and said," Yes. sure." He then ended the call.
" What's the matter?" Angad asked seeing sudden happiness on armaan's face.
Armaan turned to his father before glancing everyone as he announced," Kal Aadarsh a raha hai.. Apni family ke saath!"
(Aadarsh is coming with his family!)
